X Factory announces a new plastic chassis for the National Champion X - 6 Squared. Tom Cockerill used one to take a convincing win at Blyth, dominating all four qualifiers by wide margins and winning two A mains in equal fashion. Ellis Stafford used the plastic chassis to wrap up the U.K. Championship, winning for the second year in a row with his X - 6 Squared.
Engineer Paul Sinclair said, "The new chassis is made of the same material as the original graphite one, except that the carbon fibers are replaced by fiberglass. Therefore the new part has a bit more flex and is about 30 grams heavier. This will be an important tuning aid; the original carbon chassis will feel more rigid and provide quick reactions, the plastic chassis is more forgiving."
